  • Born and raised a Roman Catholic in Nigeria, Rev. Mr. Ephraim Udouso is an ordained Roman Catholic deacon who currently assists with chaplaincy in the Nigerian Army 81st cantonment.
  • He has expressed his desire to discover his priesthood as a minister for the deaf and disabled in our Institute.
  • He has completed the philosophical and theological training required for sacerdotal ordination at St. Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary and Spiritan International School of Theology respectively.
  • He was ordained deacon in 2018 for the Order of St. John the Baptist before it was disbanded. Now waiting for his R-1 religious worker visa to come to USA.

    The founding of the Dominican Missionaries for the Deaf Apostolate has been largely a labor of love for our founder, Fr. Tom Coughlin. In 1977, Fr. Coughlin was the first deaf priest to be ordained in the United States. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to create opportunities for the deaf community within the Catholic Church.
